  60.      Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  61.      before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
  62.      using it, you are expected to register. Individual programs
  63.      differ on details -- some request registration while others
  64.      require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With
  65.      registration, you get anything from the simple right to continue
  66.      using the software to an updated program with printed manual.

  68.      Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
  69.      and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
  70.      exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
  71.      programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
  72.      of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
  73.      and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
  74.      distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
  75.      and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
  76.      specific group. For example, some authors require written
  77.      permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
  78.      Shareware.

  80.      Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
  81.      should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
  82.      whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
  83.      fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
  84.      And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
  85.      has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
  86.      product, you don't pay for it.

  97.      warranty: Cross Words Deluxe (c) is supplied as is.  The author 
  98.      disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, including, without 
  99.      limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any 
  100.      purpose. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or 
  101.      consequential, which may result from the use of Cross Words Deluxe 
  102.      (c).

  104.      Cross Words Deluxe (c) is a "shareware program" and is provided at 
  105.      no charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it with 
  106.      your friends, but please do not give it away altered or as part of
  107.      another system.  The essence of "user-supported" software is to
  108.      provide personal computer users with quality software without high
  109.      prices, and yet to provide incentive for programmers to continue to
  110.      develop new products.  If you find this program useful and find that
  111.      you are using Cross Words Deluxe (c) and continue to use Cross Words
  112.      Deluxe (c) after a reasonable trial period, you must make a
  113.      registration payment of $20.00 to Strategic Solutions.  The $20.00
  114.      registration fee will license one copy for use on any one computer
  115.      at any one time.  You must treat this software just like a book. 
  116.      An example is that this software may be used by any number of people
  117.      and may be freely moved from one computer location to another, so
  118.      long as there is no possibility of it being used at one location
  119.      while it's being used at another.  Just as a book cannot be read by
  120.      two different persons at the same time.

  122.      Commercial users of Cross Words Deluxe (c) must register and pay 
  123.      for their copies of Cross Words Deluxe (c) within 30 days of first
  124.      use or their license is withdrawn.  Site-License arrangements may be
  125.      made by contacting Strategic Solutions.

  127.      Anyone distributing Cross Words Deluxe (c) for any kind of 
  128.      remuneration must first contact Strategic Solutions at the address 
  129.      below for authorization. This authorization will be automatically 
  130.      granted to distributors recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its 
  131.      guidelines for shareware distributors, and such distributors may 
  132.      begin offering Cross Words Deluxe (c) immediately (However Strategic 
  133.      Solutions must still be advised so that the distributor can be kept
  134.      up-to-date with  the latest version of Cross Words Deluxe (c)).

  136.      You are encouraged to pass a copy of Cross Words Deluxe (c) along 
  137.      to your friends for evaluation.  Please encourage them to register 
  138.      heir copy if they find that they can use it.  All registered users
  139.      will receive a copy of the latest version of the Cross Words Deluxe

  150.      To register, print and fill out the file ORDERFRM.TXT.  Mail it to 
  151.      the address listed on the registration form. You may also print the     
  152.      registration form from within Cross Words Deluxe (c) by selecting     
  153.      Help\Registration.  You will receive the latest version of the
  154.      program which includes 100 puzzles not in the the evaluation copy and
  155.      printed documentation. When you register, you may SELECT ONE FREE 
  156.      PUZZLEBOOK!  This will bring the total number of puzzles in the 
  157.      registered version to 200.  In addition to the registration you may
  158.      order puzzle books
